Raya!

Ini bukan pertandingan jari siapa paling molek...tapi BUKTI!!
Bukti mak-mak dara gebangite kita mesti ditambah gajinya kerana kerosakan kulit tangan akibat kerja rumah. Muahaha. Kesiaaan...At least I am not alone!

Ini pula, memang senyum terpaksa...tengah orang syok-syok makang nasik dagang ada orang nak amek gambor...tu nampak tu...satu mangkok akak abiskan. So tak hengat donia sampai kan CK nak pegi freshen up pun I kata oh, pegi lah, boleh I makan tanpa segan silu..muahaha...buruk perangai...Aishah pun sampai peluh-peluh hidung makan nasik kuah banjir...anak mami memang best!!! Ini lah hidangan hari raya kedua dia rumah CK kita. Sempat juga jumpa dengan Mint and family. Berkoyan-koyan hadiah kita dapat, macam Xmas seperti selalu. CK ada blog pasal ni, read about it at her blog. Ada gambar macam-macam.

Gendang gengdut tali kecapi, pergi Kallang makan lagi!!!

Here's to more Hari Raya!

Yesterday has got to be the much awaiting day for Aishah who have been wanting to meet Yasmin since forever. Kept spelling Y-A-S-M-I-N countless of times and it didn’t help that her Aunty Rock was unable to keep up with her sugarhigh pace yesterday – she got agitated with me a few times I don’t know why. I am so sorry Sha. What lar have I done to you?

Anyhows, Haagen Dazs witnessed budak jakun (me) who never ever tasted fondue (ohhh, cam gitu rupanya fondue) and it was the first time to gebang without Pengerusi Majlis Terhormat, Noreez. I had been out the whole of yesterday, from Paya Lebar to Arab Street to Lavender to Raffles (I have really began to Jalan a lot) that when I finally get the bestest seat in Haagen Dazs, I felt like falling asleep. The sofa made me feel too comfortable-lah.

Dua cilik gebangite was obviously more than thrilled to have met each other after eons, exchanging belated birthday gifts. The little blue pony suddenly seemed interesting to someone who is never interested with toys. Therapeutic. I never played with any Mattel just because I thought I was a boy when I was a kid. Wahahahaha! While the mak mak budak did their catching up of Desperate Housewives, this adik bongsu had her share of yummilicious scoop of ice cream, bananas dipped with chocolate and rolled with nuts and everything the fondue offers. Heavenly, cept, I was very much hoping that the chocolate would be much thicker for me to *slrrrpp*.

All in all, it had been a nice Wednesday. Let’s make a Wednesday an official Gebang Day, cos if I am not mistaken, the last Gebang at Great World was Wednesday too. That, and let’s try Nasi Rawon or should we go let the tastebuds have the most pijar moment for Ayam Penyet, in Changi. I miss Changi.

Gebangite Get Together

Aishah and I woke up very early than usual because we had a special day ahead of us. First we had to go to ICA to update her passport photo before we make another trip to Malaysia. I guess the good people at the checkpoint could not relate the cute cherubic 3 month old mug shot with the bouncy bag of fun in the backseat. Heh.
And then later, to gebang with CK , Red and Y. Aishah was going everywhere looking for Y, asking me how much longer it would take to get to Y's house. Penat layan mulut dia lah lately...After what seemed like forever, the passport business was over and off we went to Rafflescity, Aunty Rock, Aishah and I.
As usual, it is always Xmas when the gebangites meet. Thanks to CK we got ourselves a big bag full of surprises from Precious Moments. A big plush toy for Aishah(which Mommie absolutely love), a framed up placard that has Aishah's name on it. And Mommie got cookies. happy, happy, happy. We ordered fondue, just to keep up with the festive mood of celebrating our daughters' birthdays the whole year long...How come they don't get tired of birthdays eh? Maybe when they start getting age spots and fine lines eh? Gosh! Fondue is so not for frazzled moms with kids. It's fun no doubt, but the number of wipes required, and getting the kids off the sharp skewers were enough to make my blood go upstairs.

Ni budak bertuah sorang ni, barely recovered from the euphoria of last Saturday, she managed to drag herself out and join us. I guess luring her with the possibility of a good time with two cute girls and their relatively cute moms (sempat tu) was bait enough the get her out of bed. I know she would rather sleep in and let the beddings swallow her. Obviously a little quieter than her usual bubbly self, there was one thing that made her smile.

I did not know brushing the weirdly pink mane and tail hair of a blue horse was therapeutic and hypnotising. I should try it. Amazing how Mattel manages to invoke the child in Red. Masa you kecik-kecik My Little Pony belum sampai Singapore kot? Thanks for the endless tissue supply. Hehe. You takut dengan anak I eh? Kata, ROCK?! Yeargh yeargh...

Keeping the little girls amused and getting along famously with each other is not very easy. But trust CK to cook up something. With the help of a few glasses and leftover water, she turned the two little princesses into glass music virtuoso. Some progress in turn taking and sharing, however it is pretty obvious who was hogging the joint? Sorry*sheepishly*

Best Friends Forever?

Promise I won't touch your potty(inside joke). Look, look they are wearing the same shoes. F joined us a little after 7 pm, sorry we had only leftover sponges and cookies. It is always a joy to see a husband participating in the wife's social tete-a-tete and playing an active part in retail cheerleading. I got myself a pedometer, or pedophile meter as F calls it, and how I would remember it (when I got home, I made 3072 steps. Will calculate how much calories I have burnt). He royally and unsuspectedly swooped the tab and paid for everything. I am quite sore about that. Next time, buddy, next time! All in all, I must say we all had a good time, if you discount the customary toddler antics. Oh we must do this again...and again, oh yeah baby, AGAIN!! (Ha lain macam je tu)We eat NASI next time ok? When am I going to get that into my head lah. NASI is the way into CK's heart. Not fondue.

Please feel free to add your take on the fondue story.

Aura Naura

Terpancar naluri keibuannya setiap kali bersama anak-anak. Suatu hari nanti wajah ini bakal disayangi cahayamatanya sendiri. InsyaAllah.

Eh, eh lihat itu, muncung Shira (Princess of Power) macam mak dia lah.

Alhamdulillah.

P.S: Aunty Rock tak ikut arahan Madam Boss Aishah eh? *wink*

Naz's Take on the Recent Gebang

Well, one thing for sure, it was very tiring for me. Aishah decided that it was to be the day she put forth a full regalia of her adrenalizing capacity. The kids were really being kids that day. As much as I would prefer to have a quiet little schmoozing session with the girls (that's CK, Noreez and Red), it was high time the babies had some kid fun themselves.

I pooh-poohed the idea of certain playhouses that are particularly friendly to foreign-looking expats, so it was not a loss at all when the playground required a membership. Tak payah pun takpe.True, Aishah was crestfallen but only for one minute. Toys-R-Us, candy, cake and ice cream saved the day. And you wonder why they were strangely hyperactive?
And all that running after the kids who did a perfect mimick of yelling banshees paid off with that trip to Borders and M&S huh? Oh, remember how F ran after the kids and tackled the both at one go. Were you a rugby player before? I could not possibly outrun them at all with blisters and saddlebags to boot.

Aksi Kecil Gebangite

I was suddenly reminded of the Fun Dazzle time we had the other day and it kept popping in my mind – complete with visuals of how it would be like to see Aishah and Yasmin with swings, horse rides or the pool with all the colourful balls. I was filled with excitement, so there I was asking for a group of young mommies I know who duly suggested theForum Galleria.

Level 3, The Playground was supposed to be the place, and seeing Aishah’s face light up makes me feel very thrilled. Not until we found out that we need a membership card. Ooopsie!

What’s gebang without food, so there we were, stuffing ourselves with Secret Recipe and Delifrance. It was definitely great to see the kids having their own well-deserved funtime. It wasn’t the most perfect Gebang session as we imagined it to be, but let’s see it through the eyes of the lil ones. It was unusual to see that they were too hyper, but for sho’ they were happier, and they absolutely marked it as a day to remember. (Eh rhyme!)

If only they could blog about it.

And when the kids start running in the huge crowd of Orchard Road and makes us all in panic state, it is a huge wonder how lar Aunty Noreez ran to chase them with her heels????
